Restrictions oversight and regulations need to be put on EMFs and RF radiation exposure to the public. It's definitely a public health concern. And just because you may not feel anything, or you don't think you do, doesn't mean you aren't being impacted.

My name is Michael Remington and I am a resident of Pennsylvania. I have been diagnosed with a medical disability, by a medical doctor (M.D. Family Medicine) related to my exposure to RF/EMF - without informed consent. The most severe symptoms occurred after I moved into an apartment, within one half of a block away from a roof top cell site; and a "smart" electrical meter was installed, against my will, on the wall adjoining my bedroom/office. Symptoms include blurry vision, red eye, loss of vision, eye inflammation, eye lid ulcers, excessive hair loss, insomnia, muscle fatigue, lack of energy, memory loss, muscle cramping, muscle spasms, skin rashes, greying, varicose vein formation, brain fog and others. After a couple of years, my health was so poor that I realized that something was very wrong. This is when I began to investigate my exposure to RF/EMF, by purchasing an EMF meter and researching the topic. I quickly learned that sources outside of my home were emitting RF/EMF into my home: far above the precautionary recommendations of some respectable medical and scientific organizations, while being well below the FCC's safety guidelines. Otherwise, there were no significant sources of RF/EMF in my home, as I had stopped using a cell phone regularly over a decade prior to, my internet connection was hard wired, there were no WiFi devices operating in my home, and I had stopped using a DECT phone at the first sign of symptoms. All sources of my exposure orginated from outside of my apartment, aside from the DECT phone. It was only when I began applying precautionary guidelines, as published by the Building Biology Institute and the European Academy for Environmental Medicine, to the best of my ability, that signs of relief from the most severe of my symptoms were observed. At first, I applied shielding to some of my walls, but eventually ended up moving downstairs to occupy the sole room in my apartment that was not considered "extreme" - my dining room. Yet, my symptoms persisted at a reduced level and full recovery was not achievable. Finally, after six years, I moved out of my apartment with the assistance of members of my bible study group. Initially,…

Solar panels/Dirty Electricity/EMF affect your health, especially those who are immunocompromised. After having solar panels installed, I noticed a diabetic family member have exacerbated side effects, going from mild to extreme, so I did some research to further the connection. Indeed, there was a study for every side effect she was experiencing. This study shows how dirty electricity effects the ability to control blood sugar, putting oxidative stress on the body, affecting mood, vision, uti infections, skin infections, chronic fatigue, etc. Increasing evidence suggests that oxidative stress plays a crucial role in both the development and progression of diabetes. Doctors recommend exercise for patients with diabetes. However, if that exercise is done in an electromagnetically dirty environment (*under solar panels*), and if the patient is sensitive to this form of energy, it may increase stress on the body and elevate levels of plasma glucose, as in Case 2. The increasing exposure and ubiquitous nature of electromagnetic pollution may be contributing to the increasing incidence of this disease and the escalating cost of medical care. Diagnosis of diabetes needs to be done in an electromagnetically clean environment to prevent misdiagnosis, and to properly assess the severity of this disorder. Most medical centers have electronic equipment and use fluorescent lights that produce dirty electricity, which is likely to cause abnormally high blood sugar readings for those with a combination of diabetes and electrohypersensitivity (Type 3 diabetes). Dirty electricity may also explain why brittle diabetics have difficulty controlling their blood sugar levels. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2557071/ Several disorders, including asthma, ADD/ADHD, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, are increasing at an alarming rate, as is electromagnetic pollution in the form of dirty electricity, ground current, and radio frequency radiation from wireless devices. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17178585/ https://publish.kne-publishing.com/index.php/JEHSD/article/download/17386/16187/…

I have been sensitive to EMF and computers for as long as I have been using them, 35 years. I am especially sensitive to Bluetooth and get headaches and my ability to concentrate and think clearly is disturbed when Bluetooth is in use near me. I am concerned about cell towers being close to homes and I feel smart meters should not be on homes as many people have very adverse effects from them. We pay a fee for the privilege of not having any smart meters in our home, what an unjust situation. I feel uncomfortable when I am near a parking lot where many electric cars are charging. I am deeply concerned that data centers, with their concentration of emf and radiation will prove very unhealthy in our communities. I have had iPhones, iPads, and computers for 35 years and find that with each new device, the negative effect of their emfs and radiation is quite increased. My clarity and healthfulness feels diminished after using these devices. I realize many people do not feel this, and that I am more sensitive in perception than most, however that does not mean that everyone isn’t being negatively effected, they simply may not perceive the effect. Research on the effect of emf, smart meters, cell towers, computers, cell phones and cordless phones must be seriously undertaken with regulatory action taken if manufacturers do not self regulate. Additionally the logarithms used in designing social media has a deeply weakening effect on individuals and especially children.

QUESTION 2: PERSPECTIVE – I am a family member who has observed and helped manage my mother’s symptoms due to EMF since 1998. I also hold a PhD in conservation biology, which allows me to approach my mother’s illness from a scientific perspective. QUESTION 3: EXPERIENCE – My 87-year-old mother has experienced numerous symptoms since 1998, one of the first people to experience severe symptoms due to EMF starting in her 50s. It primarily affects her nervous system (asthma and jitters at best, physiological-based panic attack at worst) and mental acuity (brain fog, aphasia, “swiss cheese” memory). We know in part that her symptoms are due to EMF because, for example, she will be feeling fine and then start to experience jitters after a few moments of someone walking into a room – not knowing that they were wearing a smart watch but feeling the effects of the RF. At other times, she will start to feel a wave of pressure in her head -- when I measure the magnetic field next to her, I will find it at 2.0-5.0 (which is too high for her nervous system), and her symptoms will subside when the magnetic wave subsides. We have been to numerous doctors and health practitioners over the years in search for an answer. Very little is to be found – most MDs are unaware of the condition, and alternative practitioners are limited in the type of testing they can undertake. Despite this, she found that GABAPENTIN alleviated many of her symptoms over the years, and she is much better now than she was 30 years ago. However, gabapentin comes with its own detrimental effects, and has impacted her in other ways long term. I have also undertaken extensive home environment analyses with various building biologists and EMF experts across the country, and have become very facile both with meter measuring (all fields: electric, magnetic, and RF) and doing home mitigations with grounding and shielding materials for RF, magnetic currents, electric currents, and dirty electricity. The impact on the daily life for our family has been enormous and immeasurable. We live in a metropolis and moving to the countryside where there is less EMF is not an option. So, for example, my mother sleeps in the…

First, we don't need more research and studies. The scientific community already has more than 20,000 studies. This is an established science.

We have more than enough studies to put in place much stronger regulations and bans.

Scientists for Wired Technology (scientists4wiredtech.com) is an excellent in-depth scientific knowledge base on the hazards of continuous exposures to pulsed, data-modulated, Radio-frequency Electromagnetic Microwave Radiation (RF-EMR), which is a manmade, toxic, highly xenobiotic agent that causes systemic biological damages at levels many thousands of times lower than current U.S. RF-EMR radiation exposure guidelines.

See especially "The Largest Unethical Human Experiment In Human History" on that website.

The FCC is not a health and environmental agency. So why has it been in charge of defining what is acceptable for humans and other living beings?

We need scientific standards (set in collaboration with ANSI and public health experts) based on the solid knowledge gained for the past 70 years, --not mere guidelines -- let alone outdated ones from 1996, which were rubberstamped for their 1965 version or even as old as 1953!?

We also know what microwave sickness looks like and why this RF-EMR technology is so suitable for use by the military as a weapon.

The mere fact that wired technology is

faster (has the speed of light),

much more energy-efficient,

secure (not hackable like wireless),

much longer lasting (30-50 years vs. 5-6 years for wireless),

safer,

provides more privacy,

does not depress home values, AND

has already been subsidized to the tune of billions of US tax payer dollars (Irregulators vs. FCC) -- should be sufficient to immediately stop the wireless and 5G buildup, set scientific standards, and ask the telecom industry to fulfill their paid obligation and complete the wiring with copper and fiber optic cable networks to provide real and safe broadband to every community in the country, especially including the last half-mile or so from the street into homes.

What is the justification for choosing the slower, energy guzzling, unsafe, hackable, privacy invading, wasteful (think of all the additional junk generated with each upgrade of wireless technology every few years), and posing a fire risk (as with smart meters) to boot -- over its opposite?

What is "green" about this technology?

See attached file(s)I urge the responsible authorities to review the regulations concerning limits on non-ionizing radiation emissions, given the potential biological effects—effects that are documented in hundreds of thousands of scientific papers and are becoming increasingly apparent. I have experienced electrosensitivity since 2020; although I was initially unaware of the cause, I have been fully conscious of this issue since 2024. I currently study the subject and coordinate a group of over 100 Brazilians who are electrosensitive, experiencing a range of symptoms from mild to very severe. It took a while for me to realize I was sensitive to WiFi and cell towers. I was installing an AT&T router in my home and immediately became dizzy and nauseous. We called and turned off the “5G” and that actually made it worse. I ended up in the ER the next day with double vision and blurred vision. Every time my husband walks in the front door with his iphone - if the WiFi is turned on I can immediately feel it from 10 ft away. He’ll look and sure enough, his WiFi is turned on. Once he turns it off, I get immediate relief. My son bought the iphone 14 and we were driving and I started to feel dizzy and nauseous. I told him I thought his new phone was making me sick. Then, a few moments later, I felt better and thought maybe I was just hungry. I told him I was feeling better and he asked when I began feeling better. I told him right as we passed the lighthouse. He said, “oh, I guess I need to take my phone back as that’s exactly the moment I turned it off to see if you would notice the difference.” In our home, we have no WiFi. We can’t. We plug all devices directly into a modem. And all phones have WiFi turned off. I have to turn off all smart TVs at night. I have to turn off all smart tech in new cars. We have iphone 11’s for when our iPhone 8’s stop working, but after that, I guess we’ll all have to start using flip phones again as the newest phones make me so sick. We were living in Waikiki for a year and I began having heart flutters and severe headaches at night due to all the cell towers. We then moved to a house where the landlord installed Solar. The second they installed the firmware I felt it. And when the solar, with all the inverter boxes, was turned on, it was immediately debilitating for me. My heart started racing, ears started ringing, I got dizzy and nauseous, had a severe headache and every joint in my body began aching. I also got the worst insomnia. I could not sleep at all! I actually could feel my body throbbing. It was the worst thing I’ve ever felt. A few days in and I thought I might die. And then, the power went out in the neighborhood and I had instant relief. And that night, with no solar or power, I slept so well. The moment it…

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. My partner suffers from "electro hypersensitivity syndrome" She can not be exposed to the field of cell phone towers WiFi or smart meters, because what happens is her nervous system locks up and she can (and does) experience heart palpitations, nervous attacks, loss of sleep, and even fainting. She can not go into the city for more than a couple of hours at a time. We have moved several times because of radiation fields or cell phone towers too close, and chose to live in a rural area far from development specifically for this reason. Until there are stricter regulations on the transmission power and pace of developing technology (mobile phones, Wi-Fi, smart meters, wireless infrastructure, wearable technologies, wireless medical devices, 5G, 6G, satellite communications, Internet of Things devices, smart homes, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, and other emerging technologies) I don't expect this to change. The 1996 radiofrequency limits are long outdated, and with more and more impact studies that have been done in the past three decades proving, not suggesting, biological harm, there needs to be much tighter regulation regarding the communications industry and the increasing “electro-smog” problem and the detrimental effects of short-term and long-term exposure to these fields. We used to be able to place the responsibility (though still unfairly) on the end consumer to know the risks of the technology they partake in, but no longer are people exposed to one or two electromagnetic fields at a time – we are now entering a time where people are often exposed to ten, twenty, even more fields at a given time, and often don't escape that exposure throughout the entire day. Given the breakneck speed of technological innovation and adoption in the past three decades, and those technologies should be held to a stricter standard in order to protect the health of the people who use them. Not everyone feels WiFi or cell tower radiofrequencies, though more and more do - and others, it has a…

In 2020, during the Covid lockdown on Maui/Pukalani, HI, I began experiencing symptoms that I could not identify. A shaking, tremor, vibration like sensation that did not let up. Over the next months this sensation was accompanied by severe pain in my chest and lungs and abdomen. I felt as if I were a piece of bacon frying. Both my partner and I had headaches every day in a residence we’d lived for seven years without these symptoms. My pain worsened continuously. I went to neurologists because I thought I might have Muscular Sclerosis because in addition to the pain and shaking, I was constantly falling, had a hard time walking and could not hold things in my hands —for example my keys. I was set for a number of tests all while my symptoms worsened without receiving useful help lessening them until a friend of mine said she felt “fizzy” in my house. She went home and got an EMF meter which measures all three types of electromagnetic pollution: the RF, Magnetic Fields and Electric. I had never heard of this before, but looking at the meter she saw very high numbers for all three. and not just high numbers, but the constant spiking of the frequencies and erraticness of them. We immediately removed the Wifi router, and through research put in dirty electricity blockers, but this was not enough. I took this information to my doctor and luckily he understood this information, but besides what I had already done, and his additional suggestions (move away from cell towers, remove Wifi, and some recommended reading, there wasn’t much help for me. I even wore chainmail as one book mentioned (which I did) — along the lines of wearing a Faraday cage as my symptoms continued until in excruciating pain I woke intending to drive away and get away from the house desperate to find reprieve from my symptoms and I could barely stand and couldn’t hold my keys (let alone drive) and told my partner I needed him to drive me immediately down the hill and I needed to lay on the earth. When we went back to the house I was immediately weakened and could not walk. I spent the next several months laying on the ground on the forest and beach. I could not be in a building or live in my…

I became aware of electromagnetic fields after living over 10 years within 100 feet of a neighborhood power line and measuring exposures with a gaussmeter. These fields negatively impact mood, energy, sleep quality, skin health (increased redness and decreased elasticity), and hair health (increased dryness and thinning.) Radio frequencies typically produce similar effects. Electric distribution infrastructure produces multiple forms of electromagnetic fields, some of which can extend hundreds of feet and enter homes. These fields can be substantially reduced or eliminated through established engineering alternatives. According to EPRI, arranging conductors (wires) in a compact-delta (triangular) configuration reduces magnetic field emissions by 60–90%.[1] This avoids the higher cost of under-grounding. Utility companies should not be allowed to use multi-grounded four-wire systems because these can produce ground currents that spread laterally through the earth for hundreds of feet. Many countries do not allow such systems. Alternatives include uni-wye, delta, or five-wire systems. According to a 1998 report to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, artificial electromagnetic exposures create "internal electric fields" and potentially decrease concentrations of dopamine and serotonin.[2] The Cleveland Clinic lists health factors affected by serotonin, including focus, emotional stability, relaxation, and bone density.[3] Anyone living or walking within a few hundred feet of utility infrastructure is potentially affected by the resulting emissions. A Health Officer for California's Santa Cruz County noted in 2012 that the utility neutral bonded to water pipes causes adverse electromagnetic exposure.[4] In addition to the biological impacts of multi-grounded four-wire systems, the earth has exponentially higher resistance than metal conductors,[5] so using the earth as a conductor is energy inefficient and creates energy losses, causing additional costs for ratepayers and higher profits for utility companies. Utility smart meters contain antennas that generate radio-frequency emissions on connected wiring and in neighborhoods. Smart-meter deployment can…
