They put up a cell tower at the local park. I sat very near it for a couple of hours. When I got home, I had a headache that lasted for 6 days. I don't get headaches, except around cell towers... repeated, and it happened again. I can't sleep well with Wi-Fi on at night. I turn it off. If I'm exposed for a long time during the day outside my house (don't use Wi-Fi) and then at home, I get extremely tired. I can wear EMF protective clothes; that's the only option. I've noticed that people with pre-existing conditions are affected symptomatically. Others may not feel the effects even though the frequencies affect mitochondrial cell function and metabolism. I know people that cannot function outside their house for long, due to EMF frequencies. The public is not given informed consent, and this has been ignored for years. What happened to the Precautionary Principle? There is a lot of research on this, so I won't attach it.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure.

I am responding from the perspective of a [patient, parent, family member, caregiver, healthcare professional, researcher, advocate, concerned member of the public, or other].

I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.

I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health.

I am overjoyed to see this forum, as well as the mycology / fungal awareness talk that was recently held by this administration. I am sorry to hear that RFK Jr’s son was affected by mold growth. I was a healthy active contributing member of society until I developed CIRS, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, while working and living in moldy buildings for several years. When we found out it was mold & mycotoxins (from water-damaged buildings = WDB) we were shocked, as I did not learn this was even a possibility in medical school. We were only taught severely immunocompromised individuals were susceptible to mold illness (unless it was an allergy) This simply isn’t true. I was not immunocompromised, nor was I on steroids or any other meds that affect the immune system. I am also not allergic to mold. Yet I became so ill that I had anaphylaxis, and a multitude of other issues, and I am still fighting for my life almost 10 years later.

What I want to see studied is the effects of EMFs, WiFi, 5G… on the growth (possible rapid growth increase) of mold in WDB. This must be evaluated due to the recent explosion in CIRS cases, in addition to what usually follows CIRS: MCAS, dysautonomia/POTS and other conditions that are all very difficult to diagnose & treat and are devastating to patients & families! I thank you for this work & wish you Godspeed, as I see people every day with CIRS & MCAS who are questioning staying alive due to the severity of their symptoms. As a former health care professional this is heartbreaking and there is so much to research about why there is so much more mold & so many CIRS patients when compared to just 5 years ago. Many think it is merely awareness about EMFs etc., but I have been near towers & in buildings where I can feel my neurological symptoms heightening as I go in the building. This is so devastating to people just trying to heal in a clean environment. I know as I’ve been working on that for many years now. I hope this research is within the scope of this department, as the research out there now about EMFs etc. affecting mold growth is conflicting & thus not very helpful to determine if that’s part of why mold is accelerating in its growth in homes with water damage. AntennaSearch.com, as of 8/9/2026 shows 107 cell towers and 254 antennas within a 3-mile radius of my house.

In the last four years, as this radiation has increased, my fruit trees have sickened and died in numbers not previously known; and my personal inflammation level with its spreading/intensifying pain (along with increasing muscle weakness) has skyrocketed, making walking laborious. I have ceased to be more healthy than my age average, but now am 8-10 years behind the average health of my age group.

Five days ago, I installed the first phase of an EMF mitigation system (EarthCalm), and my inflammation and pain has now lessened noticeably and some muscle strength has returned. Radiation has also prevented or greatly slowed my ability to combat infection, as well as hampering my body's ability to detoxify.

EMF is damaging not just humans but our pollinating insects, plants, and animals as well. Fungus has been found to grow 600 times more quantity in EMF than in non-EMF circumstances. EMF and RF radiation is markedly harmful in ways not currently acknowledged by the industry. We should not be subjecting ourselves or our environment to this radiation!

In 2015, at age 33, I began experiencing blurred vision. I suspected my LASIK surgery from three years earlier might be reverting. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. J. James Rowsey, a pioneering refractive surgeon at St. Michael's Eye and Laser Institute in Largo, Florida. Dr. Rowsey helped develop laser treatments for myopia beginning in 1988 and previously chaired Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida. Following examinations, including a visual field test, he suspected a brain lesion. An MRI confirmed a pituitary tumor pressing against my optic nerve and causing blurred vision. Dr. Rowsey referred me to neurosurgeon Dr. Carrie Shulman, who trained at Walter Reed Medical Center, served as a U.S. Army neurosurgeon, and was Neurosurgical Director during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her experience gave me confidence before surgery. During an office visit before my transsphenoidal endoscopic resection of the tumor, I asked Dr. Shulman whether she had any theories about its cause. Medical literature indicated that the causes of pituitary tumors were largely unknown, although some research suggested approximately 10% of the population might have them, often without symptoms. Dr. Shulman's response has stayed with me for more than a decade. She believed the next ten years would bring greater awareness of the potential health effects of cellphone radiation, comparing it to the evolving understanding of cigarette smoking and its consequences. Smart meters are wireless devices that operate 24/7 in most homes in the US. These digital devices have the ability to expose a homeowner to RF radiation (RFR) more so than any other type of digital device because it creates both radiated emissions from the 2 wireless antennas and dirty electricity (DE) coming from inside the meter that rides on the homeowner’s power circuits. HHS should sponsor an opt out program through the Dept. of Energy or any Agency as appropriate that is the same opt out program for every one in every state, instead of every power company having its own with different rules and regulations, or not having one at all. But for those that do have an opt out program, most power companies do not address taking care of the DE in the opt out meters they have available for those that have an electromagnetic sensitivity (EMS) disability. Most people who have EMS manage that disability through avoidance of RF/EMF radiation exposures. The DE in digital AMI opt out meters comes from the operation of the switch mode power supply (2 kHz -50 kHz) which is just as harmful as the RFR exposures coming from the 2 antennas in the standard AMI digital smart meter, if not more so. However, the only way to avoid that, if you have an EMS disability, is to have other opt out meter choices. Since this involves being safe in your own home, getting an EMS access accommodation for a digital utility meter without DE should be made available to everyone who needs it. DE is going to get much worse from other distributed energy resources being added to the grid and it is inevitable, that at some point soon, the cumulative effects of DE must be addressed instead of just being ignored as optional to avoid and unimportant.

Clearly, anyone who claims that pulse-modulated radiofrequency (RF) radiation causes health problems has psychiatric problems, because I don’t experience any of these issues. This summarizes what people with EMR Syndrome face – denial that their illness could possibly be true. And yet, millions of people can eat peanuts and feel just fine, so how could anyone else have bad reactions to peanuts? Yet we know that severe allergic reactions to peanuts affect a subset of the population and society accommodates them through peanut-free zones, warning labels, and epinephrine availability. Similarly, some people have asthmatic reactions to smoke, dust, or chemical fragrances that don't affect others. Variability in biological sensitivity doesn't mean the reaction isn't real - it means we need to accommodate the vulnerable minority, not dismiss them based on the majority's experience. 3a. Technologies involved: cell phones, cell antennas, WiFi, Bluetooth, smart meters, municipal water meters (which communicate via the cellular network) and blind spot detection systems on new cars. 3b. The duration of exposure affects the severity of my symptoms and recovery time. 3c. I experience nausea, dizziness, sharp pains throughout my body, burning sensations, difficulty breathing (shortness of breath as well as my throat constricting), extreme fatigue, blurred vision, short term memory loss, difficulty concentrating, irregular heartbeat, a sensation of pressure, and changes in my voice which eventually leads to a complete inability to speak. 3d. My health effects first appeared in the year 2000 when I bought my first cell phone. I had used an analog cell phone prior to this with zero health effects. But my new cell phone used a digital signal. The first symptom was a burning sensation.
