Effect of radiation on my body

I am a Spanish citizen, and I wish to bring visibility to an extreme reality that I and thousands of people in Spain live through every day: the chronic pain, social isolation, and institutional neglect resulting from Electrohypersensitivity (EHS), along with other Central Sensitization Syndrome conditions (Fibromyalgia, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity).

Since my youth, and subsequently alongside my late mother, I have suffered a continuous decline in health (severe fatigue, digestive disorders, headaches, brain fog, tinnitus, joint pain, among many other symptoms) strongly linked to exposure to wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, cell towers, DECT devices).

This condition has forced us into severe isolation. Living in our own home becomes extremely difficult, having to dodge the impact of fragrances, perfumes, fabric softeners, etc., not to mention the technological devices of any neighbor or visitor, making social life completely impossible. Added to this is the fact that it is impossible for us to change housing, as the massive proliferation of networks and cell towers in both urban and rural areas has completely eliminated "white zones" or emission-free spaces where we could take refuge—all without taking into account the unaffordable financial cost this would entail.

Because of all this, I see the imperative need to apply the precautionary principle and strictly regulate cell towers, as well as wireless devices (Wi-Fi networks, DECT phones, mobile phones, etc.).

It is essential to find solutions

I am submitting comment to express my concerns for myself and my family regarding wireless technology and telecommunication towers. Wireless technology and infrastructure having increased dramatically since the FCC current guidelines were placed in 1996. In depth and accurate studies have not been completed to see what the effects could be on the environment and human health. I personally have experienced extremely noticeable symptoms. I seem to be very sensitive to EMF exposure. Especially since it telecommunication “pine tree” was placed near my home. I have certain reactions to different towers. The straight vertical towers with the thicker tops caused me to have a very strong pressure in my head and for my ears to ring I can actually tell if there’s a tower near me because my symptoms start before I even noticed the tower. I also experienced headaches and brain fog. Since the fake pine tree telecommunication tower was placed near my home, my entire family has been experiencing extreme brain fog, and it’s getting to the point where our words are affected. Even my elementary school students are noticing the effects. The moments of word, loss and forgetting what we were talking about are becoming a daily thing. This is a very concerning symptom in childhood. Our sleep has been affected. At certain times it seems like the frequency is higher and we feel a buzzing sensation. One of my children is about to be 14 years old and his special needs, he has a neurological disorder, and I noticed a huge impact on his cognitive ability when he has been on a tablet or computer. It gives him headaches and causes blank, staring episodes and intense mood swings. When I please strict guidelines on screen time there is a noticeable difference in the interactions with my children. I feel that the blue light exposure mixed with the frequencies that all of these devices are putting off have greatly negatively impacted the health of my family. I purchased red and yellow blue light glasses to help with our circadian rhythm, but that doesn’t help from all of the different EMF frequencies that are coming from all of the different device devices in our home. I writing in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure.

I am concerned member of the public.

The current FCC standards are based on a 1977 study involving eleven rats, a 1982 study involving five rhesus monkeys, one squirrel monkey and one rat, and a 1984 study involving five rhesus monkeys. These studies exposed tiny samples of animals to short durations of RF radiation — as in, 40 to 60 minutes — and did not look at the impact of chronic exposure to RF radiation.

The RF radiation signals used in the experiments were not like current wireless signals, which are quite complex with modulation and pulsations, waveform characteristics understood to make them more bioactive.

I am submitting this comment as someone concerned about the health effects of wireless radiation as well as the effects on the environment. I know two people who have been personally affected by wireless radiation. The daughter of a friend and my wife both have had negative health impacts from EMFs, RF, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. In the case of my wife, she has developed tinnitus, and in the case of my friend's daughter she developed tinnitus and skin rashes that caused the family to move to a rural area and limit their own use of wireless service and devices. I hope that HHS will use this opportunity to create a comprehensive report on the current medical, biological, and public health knowledge regarding these effects and take action on that. Please consider the experiences of those affected by this radiation as part of what is reviewed to come up with what should be the scientific underpinnings to actual protective standards and action by the federal government.

Wireless radiation is dangerous. Every time new stronger signals are started up, lots of people get sick. If you didn’t know that already, then please do some honest research on it. 6G isn’t necessary. 5G isn’t even necessary.

Hello! I’m writing as someone who is sensitive to WiFi radiation- I’m not sleeping well with a WiFi router working nearby, and can barely function during the day if I was exposed; it’s different when the router is off during the night - I wake up rested and relaxed. I believe it’s a serious issue when we have a great emf pollution nowadays and many people are sensitive to it and their health and lives are greatly affected by it.

I am writing in support of stronger restrictions and more robust research on wireless radiation, especially in support of the HHS rather than the FCC directing this effort. My family experiences poor sleep and ringing in the ears as a result of it, and many others (friends, acquaintances, and wider community members) suffer debilitating effects as a result of wireless radiation. I know that the future will demonstrate the incalculable harm done by this environmental disruptor, just as thalidomide was first considered safe and effective before its devastating health effects were undeniable. Please stand for the health of our fellow citizens, our children, and future generations by seriously researching and restricting this new form of environmental pollution.

I purchased my first smart phone in 2017 the Apple 8. Within 2 weeks I started getting excruciating headaches, shooting pains in my head, equilibrium problems and vertigo, nose bleeds, difficulty with speech, brain fog, ringing in the ears, and more. I know it was coming from the cell phone because every time I would try to use it the symptoms would start and after about 1/2 hour or so when I turned it off they would start to get better. Cause and affect. I could actually feel a tingling in my body around the phone. My family would turn off their phones when coming into our home and every time they would forget, I would let them know their phone was on because I could feel it. They thought I had lost my mind and so did I until I began researching and discovered I had been over exposed to emf and now was suffering from Electrohypersensitivity. I still have the condition today and my life has changed dramatically. In order to not feel sick I have to stay secluded frequently and if I do go out there is always a price to pay. I will be sick and the newest of my symptoms after exposure is leg jerking and body jerks that feel like mini seisures. Doctors can find nothing wrong with me and Nueroligist think I am a nut case when I mention the phone and emf's being the environmental toxin making me sick. I have everything wired in my home and I use a land line. I have spent thousands on doctors, and blocking material to keep my home emf proof. Recently my neighbors boosted wifi is so high I can no longer even sit on my deck without becoming ill. I can't travel and socialize or enjoy my life without symptoms. I applied for disability and was denied twice. I am unable to work and now I am 63 and forced to live on a very tight budget to get by, not knowing what the future holds. There is an Environmental Health Center in Dallas Tx. that specializes in treating people with EHS symptoms but ultimately the treatment is avoidance. If there is enough people getting sick from emf and a clinic for the condition has been opened, then a red flag has been raised. I am submitting this comment in my capacity as CEO of Children’s Health Defense to express serious concerns regarding the potential public health consequences of the rapid expansion of wireless infrastructure, particularly as they relate to children. For years, Children’s Health Defense has heard firsthand from and worked with families who experience serious health challenges associated with increasing exposure to artificial electromagnetic radiation (EMR) from wireless technology. Stories like those of Amelia Gilardi from Pittsfield, MA, who became seriously ill when a cell tower was activated in her neighborhood, remind us that wireless technology and infrastructure do not come without a cost. Behind the promise of greater connectivity are real children and families suffering from debilitating health issues—and too often, it is our children who pay the price. Children are uniquely vulnerable and deserve special consideration. They are exposed to wireless radiation at increasingly young ages, often beginning during pregnancy and continuing throughout childhood and adulthood in their homes, schools, communities, and workplaces. The widespread use of screens and wireless devices has become normalized and encouraged, while questions about hazardous, long-term and cumulative exposure effects remain routinely ignored by federal regulatory agencies and government authorities. The FCC’s current RF exposure guidelines were established in 1996 and are fundamentally flawed and outdated. Wireless technology and infrastructure has exploded since the guidelines were introduced, and yet the industry has actively suppressed the extensive body of scientific literature that clearly demonstrates harm to people and the environment. Furthermore, federal regulatory agencies have yet to demonstrate to the public that the FCC’s decades-old RF exposure guidelines adequately protect children, other vulnerable populations and the environment from the risks of exposure. I am an optician and I talk with many people about their vision problems. My concern is the blinding glare caused by headlights on cars and trucks that people experience when driving their cars at night. The radiation from the new LED lights is intense and blue. Many people have told me that they don’t drive at night because of the glare. I myself have a hard time with nighttime driving for the same reason. In the past year I have found that a yellow clip-on for my eyeglasses is indispensable at night, to moderate the blue color and glare of LED headlights. This is unfortunate because the yellow filter makes it harder to see hazards emerging from the side of the road. Additionally, if I have a headache, the bluish lights are even more irritating.

The electromagnetic fields of radio frequency are make me scared. We abuse of that kind of technologies and create an unsecured world. we can have a good life with out them.

I am sensitive to WiFi, Bluetooth and cellphone radiation and have had to reorder my life around avoiding it and minimizing exposure (it has a cumulative effect, so as long as my home environment has low levels of RF (wired Internet) etc., I can manage day-to-day exposures). If I hold my phone in my hand for too long, I feel electric charge build up in my arm and neck. If I have to use WiFi to complete a task, my whole body shudders when I turn it off. I get heart palpitations from these things, I sometimes can't be in other people's spaces. I've had to sleep in the car when sleeping at places with WiFi or I ask to unplug it. I always unplug WiFi at hotels. I have purchased products to mitigate exposures. I had to break a lease once because of it and had to sleep in the car during the dead of winter. This has been going on for over a decade and I've experienced that people don't believe me, so I no longer talk about it, but have gone to great lengths to structure my life in such a way to tolerate what I am exposed to. It seems like an issue with oxidative stress buildup. If there's anything that the government can do to regulate EMF pollution, everyone would likely benefit; not just the canaries in the coal mine. Non-human lives as well.

I am from Spain. My mother took her life in 2012 due to being electrosensitive, nobody knows what we lived. As far as I know, she was the first person to do so in my country. I was a founding member of the national electrosensitive association. Since then, five other members have decided to do the same. It is the most serious health problem facing humanity. Electrosensitive people are called the 'canaries in the coal mine.' Behind many health problems lies the cause of electromagnetic fields, but it is better to keep obeying the system, claiming there are no conclusive studies—the usual story, deception after deception, while there are people living an absolute nightmare, sleeping in cars, in the mountains, or even in caves to avoid the radiation.

We are all electrosensitive; the difference is when affected people clearly understand the cause-and-effect relationship between radiation and their health problems, such as tinnitus, nosebleeds, extreme headaches, joint pain, arrhythmias, short-term memory loss, disorientation, burning sensations in the throat and ears, nervousness, irritability, and the pathologies of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and multiple chemical sensitivity, all related to the central sensitization system. Are you going to do something about it, or are you going to keep looking the other way? This affects all of us, because we are all exposed to cell towers, Wi-Fi, mobile phones, smart TVs, DECT phones... It is very important to reduce radiation. My aunt and I both have sensitivities to it that negatively affect our long term health and quality of life. Radiation is unchecked and rampant these days and directly linked to cancer. There needs to be regulations in place to protect those with sensitivities and stop EMF radiation and RF and WRE. I am a professional software developer with a long career. I’ve heard both sides of the wireless radiation harm controversy. Some scientists claim there can be no problem, and they have strong arguments to support their position. Others have evidence that the potential for harm is real. AND THEY HAVE EVIDENCE. If I learned one thing from COVID, it to distrust government and industry. It’s shameful but true. If you are so certain there is no potential for harm, then fund independent research. Don’t let industry lobbyists influence the research or the analysis. I suspect there is pressure to avoid research because, like AI, we don’t want to fall behind in the race for technology. MOST LIKELY INDUSTRY IS AFRAID OF LIABILITY AND RESTRICTIONS. But none of this justifies flying blind, and putting future generations at risk. If no dangers are found after thorough and honest research, then we can all rest easier. And if dangers and risks are confirmed, then we can research mitigation strategies for keeping our communities safe, while still maximizing our technological advances. Until this research is done, this will be an ongoing concern, and a tax on the credibility of national leadership.

My name is Mayer Mayerfeld. I became certified as a Building Biologist Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist in 2022, after apprenticing and working for another Building Biologist for 4 years. I live in Brooklyn, New York and conducted several hundred Building Biology EMF assessments between 2018 and and 2022, in the Tristate region. Since 2022,rather than conducting individual assessments, I have decided to focus on research to become a more proficient expert with an eye to educating the public about this very important environmental pollutant and hopefully to influence public policy to curtail it. Radio Frequency Radiation/R.F./Wireless Microwave Radiation Communication is one of the 4 types of Man Made EMF that are often the focus of concern. The others 3 would be AC Magnetic Fields, AC Electric Fields,and Dirty Electricity - High Frequency Voltage Transients. In addition to these 4 types of EMF, Artificial light which is also an EMF, is a very important part of the picture. I would like to start with the conclusion of the NIEHS Rapid Report from 1999 and Its Working Group from 1988 cited by Kavet et al in regards to contact current. "In addition to these relative aspects of dose, the absolute (as well as modest) level of contact current modeled (18 μA) produces average electric fields in tissue along its path that exceed 1 mV/m. At and above this level, the NIEHS Working Group [1998] accepts that biological effects relevant to cancer have been reported in "numerous well-programmed studies". The effects the Working Group cites are "increased cell proliferation, disruption of signal transduction pathways, and inhibition of differentiation". The NIEHS endorses this conclusion in its final EMF RAPID report [1999]. So we see that the US government knew back in 1999 that an 18 microamp / 1millivolt per meter electric field can cause cancer. Although Kavet was discussing contact current, The Late Dave Stetzer,a senior expert in the IEEE, explained that you can induce an an 18 microamp current by means of capacitive coupling to the Dirty Electricity in the electric field from home wiring.
